Southfork Retrievers is a breeding program and also focuses on helping our clients develop their new puppy properly.  We also offer obedience training in the form of appointments and private sessions.  These sessions can take place at our kennel, or in your home for your convenience.  We are not a professional training outfit for gundogs, hunt test or field trial dogs but can recommend excellent trainers that we know personally.

Here at Southfork our primary focus is breeding quality retrievers suited for life in the home and field.  We train our own dogs for hunt tests, and have recently taken interest in training for Owner/Handler Qualifying events in AKC field trials.  We have a trainer on our staff (Sammie Harms, Wisco Retrievers) who focuses in the following areas:
- Puppy development and head start program
- Basic Obedience - private sessions, small group classes, limited board and train capacity

Field Training
Southfork is not a professional field training service.  Our focus is on puppy development and basic obedience training.  We work closely with several professional trainers and serve as a feeder program.  Southfork dogs have a reputation of being balanced and stylish dogs with great genetics.  If you are seeking training services, please inquire to us and we are happy to recommend great trainers to you!
